Name: Jami Lynn Goldstein
Hometown: Savannah, GA
Graduation Year: 2022
Major: Psychology
Other: Sinai Scholar Fellow

Name two fun facts about yourself:
1) I have a kitty named P-nut. 2) I did gymnastics and competitive cheerleading for 13 years.

Are you named after someone? If so, who?
My great grandmothers name was Lulamay but my parents did not want to name me that so they took the L from it and made my middle name Lynn. But now, when people know my name is Jami Lynn, they think of Jamie Lynn Spears.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
I would love to go to Iceland because they have beautiful waterfalls.

Can you tell us something that others would be surprised to learn about you?
When I was 8 years old, I fell off a twin size bed when I was sleeping and broke my collarbone. There was even carpet on the ground!

Best Chabad memory? Why?
The first ChaBBQ my freshman year because it’s where I met all my best friends. I highly recommend that all Jewish freshmen attend this event, you will make lifelong friends and be made to feel like you belong.

You’re a current Sinai Scholar. What makes it so awesome?
I love learning more about my religion. I really like that Judaism is all about asking questions as a way to learn. I hope that by participating in Sinai Scholars I will become closer to Judaism. I think everyone should sign up for Sinai Scholars because although Judaism is our identity we don’t necessarily know what that means. Sinai Scholars teaches you just that!

What is your favorite thing about KSU?
The family feel. I like how close knit the Jewish community is because there aren't many jewish people where I'm from in Savannah.

If you could start college all over again, what would you do differently?
I would have taken environmental science with a different professor.

Favorite Jewish memory:
I love Shabbat at Chabad here in Kennesaw! I did not always celebrate Shabbat before college so it’s cool to do it here. I love being with all my friends for dinner! And it gives me a reason to dress up!

Describe Chabad in 5 words:
Family, Tradition, Delicious food, Home and Community. And I'll give you one more: WELCOMING!

Favorite Jewish holiday? Why?

My favorite Jewish holiday is the new year because apples and honey are so sweet! It is refreshing to begin a new year and I love to be with family.
